The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has approximately 2.4 million members, 11,100 congregations and 14,000 ordained and active ministers. Presbyterians trace their history to the 16th century and the Protestant Reformation. Our heritage, and much of what we believe, began with the French lawyer John Calvin (1509-1564), whose writings crystallized much of the Reformed thinking that came before him. 	Mission Statement We at Oakhurst Presbyterian believe the church is a family of God's people brought together and reconciled by the love of God through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit leads us to spread the good news of the Gospel through our family of faith to the community and the world.

		Our History A small, dedicated beginning in November 1928 laid the foundation for Oakhurst Presbyerian Church and gave a glimmer of hope to the charter members that their dreams of a church had the possiblity of succeeding. These dreams have continued to be fullfiled through faith, prayer, love, caring and giving of one's physical and financial means to God for His glory in greater measures than ever thought possible seventy-eight years ago. Today we can reflect on the early years and their happenings, evaluate ourselves as we stand today and look forward to the promises of the future. In our more than 80 years, through the grace of God we have sought to provide spiritual guidance, Christian education and wholesome activities for each member of the congregation and members of the surrounding community. With a sense of mission the Church has served its community and reaches out to help people in need.
